Multiple Pain Points

October 3, 2012

Having watched the David Blake conversation, I noticed that he mentioned pointing out the next pain point for Degreed.  There may be multiple pain points in our problems.  When trying to learn a language there are multiple pains that interact with the overarching problem of reaching fluency.  My question is what to do with multiple pain points?  At what point is it better to create multiple products to address different pains, or to create separate products for separate pains? Or create one product with subsections to address different pains?  I know that when we are sick we may have several symptoms of pain even though there is one overarching disease,  and that sickness may need one or more treatments.  Like sicknesses, I’m guessing the answer may not be simple.  Right now I’m leaning on the need to test which solution best meets users’ needs.  Has anyone else dealt with this issue?  Any good advice?
